How do we apply for an award?
You can apply for an award by visiting our ‘Enter the Awards’ page. There are four award categories in the 2026 Family Learning Awards. There is a separate online submission form for each. If you are unable to use the online submission form, there is an option to use the Word document version.
How are the awards judged?
The awards are competitive, and entries are judged against set criteria for each award. You can find the criteria for each category on the ‘Enter the Awards’ page. The entries are shortlisted with successful organisations notified in May. Winners for each category are announced in June.
Who should apply?
Applications are open to any UK organisation working with families such as libraries, museums, community education, schools, third-sector organisations, and tech companies.
All applications are welcome, whether you are new to the awards or have previously entered, been shortlisted or won. If you think you are delivering exemplary family learning, we want to hear from you!
What activities are eligible?
Any activity, event or initiative that takes place in the year prior to the awards opening is eligible for the Family Learning Awards. For the 2026 awards, this is between October 2024 and December 2025. These activities may have started before or continued after those dates. To see examples of activities that have been shortlisted and won previously, please go to our ‘Previous Winners’ page.
How many award categories can we enter for?
You are welcome to enter as many award categories as you wish. For the 2026 awards, there are four award categories, each with its own judging criteria. To see the judging criteria for each category, go to the ‘Enter the Awards’ page.
Do we need to provide additional evidence with our submission?
No, you do not. However, you can upload additional evidence, such as photographs and links to videos. This can offer judges a visual sense of what you have done. Non-submission of media is not a disadvantage.
What is the timeline for the awards?
The awards are open for entries on Monday 2 February and close on Monday 23 March at 12pm. Shortlisted applicants will be notified in May. The 2026 winners will be announced in June.
